Our
Story

Get to Know Us

Trent first visited Peru in 2008, where he partnered with local ministries serving some of the country’s most vulnerable children—those living in poverty, suffering from abuse, or experiencing homelessness. It was during a weekly Bible camp for orphans and inner-city kids that he met Nella.

During his time in Peru, Trent traveled from Lima to Iquitos and eventually to Huánuco. In every city, he worked alongside others to care for children in need of medical care, education, safe shelter, and daily meals. These moments also allowed him to share the love of Christ, connect children with local churches, and remain in contact as a source of encouragement.

Trent and Nella were married in 2012. Though they returned to the U.S. in 2013, their passion for the children of South America never faded. They’ve continued to support many of the same children—helping with college tuition, sponsoring students to attend Bible school, assisting with medical needs, providing meals, fundraising for special causes, and praying faithfully for them and the ministries they love.

Over the years, God has continually placed it on their hearts to take the next step—establishing an orphanage where children can grow up in a safe, nurturing environment, and where their lives can be set on a path toward hope, blessing, and lasting joy.

Nella is originally from Lima, Peru. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and currently part-time homeschools their three sons. She enjoys interior decorating, cheering on her kids at their various sports activities, reading, and gardening.

Trent is originally from Lubbock, Texas. He has a Master’s degree in International Relations and owns a general contracting company specializing in commercial construction. In his free time, he loves spending time with family, attending the boys’ sports events, and reading.

Together, Nella and Trent are blessed with three wonderful boys—Nathan (9), Liam (7), and Luke (5). Their family also includes their beloved goldendoodle, Luna, and a rescued box turtle named Avione.

Our Mission

The Easter Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting homeless and abused children in Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. Through our programs and initiatives, we aim to provide shelter, education, and a brighter future for these vulnerable children. Join us in creating a world where every child feels safe, loved, and hopeful.

Vision

Habakkuk 2:2, “Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.’”

The Easter Foundation is dedicated to helping children in need. Our primary mission is to serve victims of abuse and trafficking, children facing homelessness, malnutrition, lack of education, limited social support, and any child requiring assistance.

Our Vision

We are committed to accomplishing this mission through the following principles:

  • Biblical Foundation:
Every activity and event will be rooted in Biblical teachings. Beyond meeting the physical and emotional needs of children, we focus on their spiritual well-being. Our vision is to nurture disciples of Jesus—children who are taught the Bible and whose transformed lives will glorify the Lord.

  • Establishing Orphanages:
We aim to open orphanages for children without other safe options. In the coming years, our focus areas are Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. These homes will vary in size—some housing 4-5 children, others accommodating up to 50.

  • Family Reunification:
We work diligently with families to safely reintegrate children when conditions allow.

  • Advocating for Justice:
We actively pursue justice against those responsible for the abuse and mistreatment of children under our care.

  • Sustainable Growth:
Through continuous fundraising efforts, we seek to expand, open new homes, and avoid stagnation. Our goal is to always do more for children in need.

  • Church Partnerships:
We collaborate with local churches to involve them in children’s ministry. We encourage churches to take active roles in supporting vulnerable children, while also recruiting volunteers and staff from within the church community.

  • Professional Team Development:
We are committed to building a professional, skilled team dedicated to serving children with excellence and compassion.

  • Mission Team Engagement:
We welcome mission teams and church groups, fostering their involvement and encouraging their long-term commitment to our work.
